Municipal Court
The Municipal Judge is elected by the citizens of Hannibal for a 3 year term. The Hannibal Municipal Court falls within the 10th Judicial Circuit of the Eastern District of Missouri.
The Municipal Court is responsible for adjudication of all defendants and ensuring due-process-of-law. Court arraignments are held twice weekly, on Monday and Thursday and night court once a month on the second Tuesday. The City Attorney also serves as Prosecuting Attorney for the court. The Municipal Court is staffed by a Court Administrator, two Court Clerk, and one Office Assistant I.
