Glider Operations
Glider rides are a very popular service offered at the Hannibal Airport and Air shows around the Midwest. Barron Aviation offers a full glider flight school as well as rides. The minimum age to fly a glider solo is 14 but flight instruction can begin at any age. A private pilot glider license can be issued at the age of 16. Flying gliders is a great way to get into flying! There are no age limits for rides but there are some restrictions:
- People under the age of 18 require signed parental consent.
- Young ones must be large enough to be safely secured by the aircraft safety harness (about 3’ tall).
- For weight and Balance in the glider passenger weight is restricted to 250 lbs maximum.
